Robert Pattinson is the new face of superhero Batman, according to a deal various media outlets reported Friday was signed between the star and Warner Bros.

The Twilight actor will be playing the Caped Crusader in screenwriter-director Matt Reeves’ upcoming superhero flick titled The Batman, Variety reported, confirming its prior reportage from May 16.

The Batman is set to hit theatres two years from now, on June 25, 2021.

On the other hand, it was earlier reported that the studio was torn between Pattinson and Nicholas Hoult, which is why they held a meeting to get both actors to audition for them.

A meeting, according to Deadline, took place on Thursday, following which Pattinson was approved despite Hoult, too, being a good choice. "Those meetings happened yesterday, I’m told, and the decision was made," the publication wrote.

Sans Ben Affleck, Reeves will now continue on the path that the former along with Zack Snyder set and will go further back to Batman's earlier years.
