BPL: Hodge steers Barisal to 5-wkt win over Chittagong

DHAKA: An opening wicket partnership of 109 runs between Brad Hodge and Ahmed Shahzad paved the way for a five-wicket win for Barisal Burners against Chittagong Kings in the Bangladesh Premier League here at the Shere Bangla National Stadium on Sunday.

Hodge smashed 67 off 36 balls with eight fours and three sixes while Shahzad made 43 off 30 balls with three fours and two sixes.

Peter Mustard also made a useful contribution of 24 runs.

Chasing 151, Barisal reached the winning target in 15 overs for the loss of five wickets to register their fifth win in its tenth and last league match in the tournament.

Earlier, Chittagong, sent into bat by Barisal, scored 150 runs for nine wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Jason Roy top scored with 42, followed by Dwayne Bravo (26), Brendan Taylor (25) and Ziaur Rehman (24).

Yasir Arafat captured three wickets for 21 and Nazmul Hasan took two for 23.
