Daniel Craig opened up about the downside of portraying the role of James Bond on his family.
The 56-year-old actor, who starred in Bond films between 2006 and 2021, admitted during a live conversation at BFI in London on Monday, December 9, that the fame and attention due to his 007 role have impacted his family.
As Variety reported, The Queer actor "loved every second" of his work with the James Bond franchise but there were some drawbacks too that came along with it.
"I mean," Craig clarified his statement, adding, "some of it was tough and weird and strange and emotionally kind of difficult for everybody, including my family. The fame is weird."
It is pertinent to mention that Craig tied the knot with actress Rachel Weisz in 2011 and they welcomed a daughter named Grace.
He is also father to daughter Ella Loudon whom he shares with ex wife Fiona Loudon and son Henry with ex-fiance Darren Aronofsky.
In a recent interview with The Sunday Times, he revealed that he felt "empty" and emotionally "exhausted" after shooting each of his James Bond movies.
"Early on with Bond I thought I had to do other work, but I didn’t. I was becoming a star, whatever that meant, and people wanted me in their films. Incredible”, Craig told the outlet.
"I was so exhausted at the end of a Bond it would take me six months to recover emotionally. I always had the attitude that life must come first and, when work came first for a while, it strung me out," he added.
