Princess Charlotte beats Louis in online popularity, trails mother Kate

Prince William and Kate Middleton on Friday marked the 10th birthday of  Princess Charlotte.

Taking to Instagram, the Prince and Princess of Wales shared a picture of their daughter, who is third-in-line to the British throne.

The royal family typically releases new, previously unpublished, photos on special occasions like birthdays.

According to a British journalist, the photo was taken by "Princess of Wales on her iPhone in Cumbria earlier this year."

Interestingly, the picture posted by the royal family became only the second Instagram post which hit 1 million likes this year since Kate Middleton's 43rd birthday in January 2025.

Kate's photo shared by her husband, Prince William on January 9, marked her first birthday since her cancer diagnosis, that took on even greater significance after her completion of chemotherapy and announcement that she was in remission.  

The heartfelt photo and message penned by Prince William celebrated her strength and resilience.

On Instagram, Kate's birthday post was a huge hit, with over 1.6 million likes. Notably, Prince Louis' 7th birthday post in April was also popular, with over 700,000 likes, making it one of the most liked posts on the royal couple's account this year."

Prince Louis' 7th birthday post on April 23, 2025 garnered over 700,000 likes, falling short of the 1 million likes milestone achieved by Princess Charlotte's post.
