Ben Affleck appears tense on 'Animals' set amid Ana de Armas-Tom Cruise buzz

Ben Affleck looked visibly tense as he was spotted smoking a cigarette during a night shoot on the Los Angeles set of his upcoming Netflix thriller Animals on Wednesday. 

The 52-year-old Oscar winner is wearing multiple hats for the film, serving as co-writer, producer, director, and lead actor, playing an LA mayoral candidate whose son is taken hostage with only hours to secure a ransom, as per Daily Mail. 

Affleck was surrounded by crew members while filming the sixth directorial effort of his career, which features a star-studded cast including Gillian Anderson, Kerry Washington, and Steven Yeun.

Animals follows his acclaimed work on Air, Argo, and The Town.

Off-screen, Affleck has been making headlines again due to his former relationship with Ballerina actress Ana de Armas, who is now rumored to be dating Tom Cruise. 

The pair were recently photographed together in London after attending David Beckham's 50th birthday celebration, as per the publication. 

De Armas and Affleck dated during the pandemic from 2020 to 2021.

Meanwhile, Affleck continues to stay busy with multiple projects. 

He recently executive produced Kiss of the Spider Woman, starring his ex-wife Jennifer Lopez, and is set to star alongside longtime friend Matt Damon in Joe Carnahan's upcoming crime drama RIP on Netflix.

Affleck shares three children, Violet, Fin, and Samuel, with ex-wife Jennifer Garner. 

Despite the personal and professional whirlwind, the Gone Girl actor-director remains focused on his work as he helms one of the year's most anticipated thrillers.
