Billy Ray Cyrus has praised his ex-wife Tish Cyrus on Mother's Day despite ongoing family feud.

Taking to his Instagram Stories on Sunday, the 63-year-old singer revealed that he and his family "are so close to full healing."

“Tish Cyrus was and is the very definition of a strong mother," he began the lengthy post. “Trust me, I’m the first to admit being married to me was not easy."

"I’m very good at making mistakes,” he added describing himself as “a very imperfect man.”

For those unversed, Billy and Tish exchanged vows in December 1993 after meeting at a club in 1991. The exes announced their divorce in April 2022 after 30 years of marriage.

In his statement, Billy also called out his daughter Miley Cyrus, saying, “I’m so proud of Miley and her guts and courage. Her wisdom and strength to bring it when our family needed it most. “

“We are so close to full healing,” said the Grammy Winner, referring to the rumored tensions within the family in recent years.
