Kensington Palace releases Kate Middleton's emotional statement

Princess of Wales Kate Middleton has shared her true feelings after she presented the Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design to Patrick McDowell.

Taking to social media handles, Kensington Palace, on behalf of Kate Middleton, shared a video with a heartfelt message of the Princess.

Kate Middleton’s message reads, “Honoured to present the Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design to Patrick McDowell.

“A huge well done to Patrick, whose bold, sustainable vision is helping to shape the future of British fashion. His commitment to creativity, community and circular design is truly inspiring.”

The future queen presented the Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design at the British Fashion Council in central London, during an event to celebrate the impact of young British creatives and the UK’s thriving fashion industry, and recognise designers who are leading the way in sustainable practices and making a positive impact on the environment.

First presented by Queen Elizabeth II at London Fashion Week in 2018, the award was initiated in recognition of the role played by British design and fashion in the country’s culture and trade.

Each year, the award is presented to an emerging British fashion designer who shows exceptional talent and originality, whilst demonstrating value to the community and strong sustainable policies.
