Sean ‘Diddy' Combs & Casandra Ventura trial: Legal analyst weighs in

Input from a legal analyst has come in, and it’s branded the defense’s entire strategy “unusual and effective”.

While talking to CNN the analyst pointed out the difference in Diddy’s defense strategy vs the ‘tendency’ because usually, lawyers try to “destroy” the character of the key witness, in this case Ms Casandra ‘Cassie’ Ventura.

he was also quoted saying, “I think they’ve calculated correctly that she was a credible, sympathetic, likable witness…”

because “they’re not trying to tear her down. They’re basically trying to undermine this notion that she was coerced using her own words.”

And “I think it’s a smart tactic,” Mr Honig said. “But I should say it reads better on paper than apparently it’s playing in the courtroom,” said Honig who has served as the former assistant US attorney in NYC.

For those unversed with the trial, it is expected to run for two months and is currently on day 4. The accused stands charged with a number of allegations, from sex trafficking to racketeering, as well as forced labor, and the transportation of individuals for the purpose of prostitution.

If charged he faces a minimum sentence of 15 years.
