Hayley Atwell made a surprising revelation during her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this week.
According to Daily Mail, she revealed that she was eight and a half months pregnant while filming a high-octane fight scene in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.
The 43-year-old star, who plays IMF agent Grace alongside Tom Cruise in the final installment of the blockbuster franchise, shared the behind-the-scenes detail before a clip from the film was shown to the studio audience.
In regards to this, she told Fallon, “During this fight sequence — we came back to it a few times to add a few elements to it. And in this clip, I’m eight-and-a-half months pregnant,” while adding that it was the first time she had publicly disclosed the information, calling it “a Fallon exclusive.”
Moreover, Atwell praised the production team for their support during filming.
Additionally, she recalled, “I was taken such good care of. Everyone was so supportive, and they were like, ‘Oh, you can sit down, and we’ll have a stunt double do it,’ And I was like, ‘No! I’ve worked too hard. Let me do it.’ So I did it — and here it is.”
The actress welcomed her first child with fiancé, music producer Ned Wolfgang Kelly, last year.
The couple got engaged in April 2023, with Kelly sharing the news in a light-hearted Instagram post that described the surreal moment in a Venice Airbnb filled with porcelain ducks and a street accordionist playing My Way.
Furthermore, the couple now appears to be married, with Atwell referring to Kelly as her husband during a recent interview on LIVE with Kelly and Mark.
It is worth mentioning that he also continues to support her on the red carpet, recently posting about her Cannes Film Festival appearance, urging fans to see the new Mission: Impossible film, as he said, “Go watch my amazing wife killing it in The Final Reckoning. The film rocks.”
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is the eighth and final film in the action franchise that began in 1996.
