Buckingham Palace has made a big announcement about King Charles amid reports his estranged son Prince Harry’s 'drastic step' has likely ‘appalled’ the monarch.

According to royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams, King Charles will be greatly wounded by Harry’s attempts to change his family name.

The royal expert was speaking to the Daily Express, per the GB News.

He said, “Someone’s family name is a pivotal and public link to the other family members."

The expert went on saying the duke’s desire to drop a name shared by his father King Charles and brother Prince William among other members of the Royal Family would therefore have been a “clear gesture of enmity”.

Richard Fitzwilliams believes the news would have come as a “deeply hurtful” revelation to Harry’s father.

The royal expert continued, “The King will be appalled that his youngest son has considered such a drastic step.”

Amid these claims, the Majesty Magazine shared palace announcement about King Charles on its X, formerly Twitter handle.

It tweeted, “NEW: The King, as Captain General, will make his first visit to the Royal Regiment of Artillery at Larkhill, Salisbury, on Friday 6th June, where he will meet personnel from the 21 regiments that form up the Royal Regiment.”

The new appointments will continue to reflect the close relationship between the Armed Forces and the Royal Family in King Charles reign, the royal family had said.
