Jackie Chan has revealed how he learnt English with a demo.

Chan, 71, told Kelly Clarkson on her talk show that he learnt English by listening to country music.

On the Tuesday, June 3, episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the Rush Hour actor was accompanied by his Karate Kid: Legends costars Ralph Macchio and Ben Wang.

When Wang, who plays the latest karate kid, revealed that he learned English through Cartoon Network infomercials, Chan said, "I learn English in country songs, because country songs [are] slow."

He then began to sing the chorus of Willie Nelson's classic Always on My Mind, and the audience began to cheer and clap.

A surprised-looking Clarkson said, "I'm sorry, I just got serenaded by Jackie Chan, that's how I'm going to take this day away.”

Elsewhere in the interview, the Police Story star made everyone laugh when he admitted he didn’t understand anything his Rush Hour co-star Chris Tucker said during filming. He revealed that he said his dialogues not in response to Chris but on his dialogue coach’s cue that it was his turn to speak.

Karate Kid: Legends stars Ralph Macchio in his long-held role of the original Karate Kid, Daniel LaRusso, who becomes a karate sensei in the TV show Cobra Kai.

Whereas Chan reprises his role as Mr. Han from the 2010 Karate Kid film, and Ben Wang plays a young kung fu prodigy the karate and kung fu legends then train. The film is in theaters.
