In the Avengers: Endgame post-credit scene, Thor joined the Guardians, hinting in the third installment of the misfits heroes, the god of thunder would appear. But James Gunn was opposed to it.
The filmmaker, who had directed the franchise, told EW, “I said in the script notes: ‘I’m not gonna put him in. I don’t want to have Thor in the Guardians. I don’t want to do a movie with Thor.’”
He continued, “I don’t understand the character that much. I love watching his movies, and I love Chris Hemsworth as a guy. I don’t understand how to write that character.”
Elsewhere in the interview, James shared that a new film on Wonder Woman is in the works.
"Wonder Woman's a separate thing" to the already announced Paradise Lost HBO/Max series, which is "slow moving, but it's moving."
“We're working on Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman's being written right now," the director said.
He also weighed in on making a Justice League movie. “Of course, of course. But there is no Justice League in this world...not yet."
James-helmed Superman will fly in cinemas on July 11.
