Nancy Sinatra is remembering Brian Wilson with heartfelt words following the music legend's death at age 82.
On Wednesday, June 11, after Wilson's family announced his passing, the “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’” singer took to Instagram to share a touching tribute alongside a photo of herself with Wilson in a recording studio.
According to People, Sinatra wrote, “His cherished music will live forever as he travels through the Universe and beyond. God bless you, sweet Brian.”
She added that singing California Girls with Wilson was “one of the biggest thrills of [her] life.”
Moreover, the two musicians first met at Wilson’s 60th birthday celebration at the Mulholland Grill in Bel Air, where Sinatra admitted they were both shy but instantly connected over mutual respect and admiration.
In a past interview on Wilson’s website, she described his music as “so refreshing” and called him “generous” and “very giving.”
Their collaboration on California Girls later appeared on Sinatra’s 2022 album California Girl.
Wilson, co-founder and creative force behind The Beach Boys, died on June 11.
In a statement, his family wrote, “We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved father Brian Wilson has passed away… Please respect our privacy at this time as our family is grieving.”
Additionally, no cause of death has been revealed. Wilson had been under a conservatorship since early 2024 due to a major neurocognitive disorder following the death of his wife, Melinda Ledbetter.
