Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have made a shocking move with their latest staff hire.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex hired Emily Robinson as Director of Communications, who has previously worked on The Crown.
The shocking move by the royal couple is reportedly being interpreted as a sign that they have no intention of reconciliation with the royal family.
For those unaware, Emily worked with the Netflix drama series from seasons 3 to 6. She then departed her position in April 2024, months after the most controversial series of The Crown aired.
Season six of the Netflix series saw Prince Harry wearing Nazi fancy dress, Princess Diana’s panorama interview and the late Princess’ ghost speaking to Queen Elizabeth.
The insider told the Mail about Emily that “She was always very charming and supportive to [creator of The Crown] Peter Morgan and all the actors in The Crown. She is one of the breed of publicists who think that the talent can do no wrong.”
“In the circumstances, it's almost beyond belief that Harry and Meghan would hire someone straight from The Crown,” the insider added.
While the royal family had no comment on the controversial Netflix series, the youngest son of King Charles, who stepped down from his royal roles in 2020 alongside his wife Meghan Markle, expressed his support for The Crown previously.
“I'm way more comfortable with The Crown than I am seeing the stories written about my family, or my wife, or myself,” he told James Corden in a 2021 interview.
Notably, Prince Harry also confirmed later that he had watched the Netflix series The Crown.
