King Charles on Friday attended a ceremony where he presented new Colours to the 1st and 2nd Battalion, the Coldstream Guards, at Windsor Castle in of London.
In pictures released by the palace, King Charles is seen inspecting the regiment.
The monarch, as Colonel-in-Chief, presented four ceremonial flags to the 1st and 2nd Battalion (Number 7 Company).
According to the local media, the event took place in the castle's Quadrangle after the battalions marched from Victoria Barracks through the George IV Gate.
One of the newly consecrated Colours will be carried by Number 7 Company during tomorrow's Trooping the Colour at the King's Birthday Parade in London.
Trooping the Colour is a ceremonial event performed every year on Horse Guards Parade by regiments of Household Division, to celebrate the official birthday of the British sovereign, though the event is not necessarily held on that day. It is also known as the Sovereign's Birthday Parade.
The king was presented with a Royal Salute from a dais whilst the Band of the Coldstream Guards played the National Anthem.
The monarch was accompanied by Lieutenant General Sir James Bucknall, Colonel of the Regiment, throughout the ceremony.
According to GB News, the Coldstream Guards, known as the Sovereign's bodyguard, regularly guard the Royal Palaces in London and Windsor.
The father Prince William and Prince Harry became Colonel-in-Chief of the regiment on 22nd December 2022
