Princess Eugenie on Friday said she was delighted to attend the UN Ocean Conference in France.

In a statement on Instagram, the daughter of Britain's Prince Andrew said, it was "An honour to attend the Global Fund for Coral Reefs event and stand alongside those working tirelessly to protect our oceans and restore vital marine ecosystems."

The United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC), from 9 to 13 June in Nice,  brought together world leaders, scientists and stakeholders to step up global efforts to protect the ocean.

Although Prince William did not attend the UN Ocean Conference in Nice, he was at the Blue Economy and Finance Forum in Monaco on June 8,which was held ahead of the UN Ocean Conference.

Speaking on the occasion, Prince William delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of protecting the world's oceans and urged global leaders to take action.

The forum in Monaco attended by William was precursor to the UN Ocean Conference where his cousin, Prince Eugenie, said it "was so incredible to be able to see everything going to protect our oceans".

The visits undertaken by both the royal cousins were aimed at addressing the climate change and environmental issues.

Princess Eugenie's work in support of causes championed by Prince William, the future king, might help her leverage with his father, King Charles, to secure as much relief as possible for her father, Prince Andrew. Prince Andrew fell out of favor with the royal family due to his associations with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
