The Buckingham Palace on Friday released a video of King Charles presenting New Colours to the Coldstream Guards at Windsor Castle.
A statement said King Charles presented New Colours as as Colonel-in-Chief ahead of Trooping the Colour on Saturday.
It said "The Colour is a Regiment’s ceremonial flag made of silk damask, with gold thread embroidery and a fringe."
The palace said, "During the parade, His Majesty was invited to inspect troops and the New Colours were presented to The King, who touched them in acknowledgment."
Trooping the Colour is a ceremonial event performed every year on Horse Guards Parade by regiments of Household Division, to celebrate the official birthday of the British sovereign, though the event is not necessarily held on that day. It is also known as the Sovereign's Birthday Parade.
The monarch was accompanied by Lieutenant General Sir James Bucknall, Colonel of the Regiment, throughout the ceremony.
The Coldstream Guards, known as the Sovereign's bodyguard, regularly guard the Royal Palaces in London and Windsor.
