Michael Stevenson recently disclosed a shocking twist about his character, Iain Dean.

For those unversed, Iain Dean is a fictional character from the British medical drama Casualty. He plays the love interest of Sam Nicholls, played by Charlotte Salt.

In a recent conversation with Metro UK, Mike Stevenson, who has played Iain since 2012, opened up about his character's new storyline.

Sharing what to anticipate as the character takes center stage in an upcoming mini-series, Mike told the outlet, "The offer that comes in for Hart somewhat sidelines him."

"While he's content with his settled life and marriage, you can never fully remove that adventurous side of him – he's always drawn to excitement and the thrill of danger," he said of his character.

He went on to elaborate on Iain's past experiences and the new opportunity, which seems attractive for his character.

"He's worked with HEMS before, and that's always been appealing for the higher level of rescue work it offers. But Hart represents an entirely new level," he added.

Before moving to a new topic, the actor also noted, "This is his initial temptation to step away, yet what reinforces that pull is seeing the very team he painstakingly built and nurtured slowly unravel. This situation only escalates as events unfold after this episode."
