Kate Middleton's family celebrates special day after Prince William's birthday

Michael Middleton, the father of Princess Catherine aka Kate Middleton, is celebrating his 76th birthday on Monday June 23.

The father of three is privately marking his birthday, two days after his son-in-law, Prince William turned 43.

He was absent from Royal Ascot where his wife Carole Middleton was pictured with King Charles and Prince William.

Born in Leeds and educated at the University of Surrey, Michael Middleton worked for British Airways for many years as a flight dispatcher. 

Michael reportedly has a close relationship with his son-in-law, Prince William, who often turns to him for advice.

His daughter on Saturday shared a picture of her family, William and three children, as she marked her husband's birthday.

The official Instagram account of the Prince and Princess of Wales  shared a picture of William to mark the day.

The photo was taken by Kate Middleton who shared it with a personal message on Instagram.

"Happy birthday! Love C, G, C, L, Orla and the puppies," she wrote referring to her children and the couple's dogs.
