Allison Williams opened up about her traumatizing experience of giving birth to her son Arlo.

In a recent chat on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast on June 24, the 37-year-old actress shared her story to host Amanda Hirsch.

Recalling her 36-hour labor with fiancé Alexander Dreymon by her side, Williams revealed that she ended up having an emergency C-section after their baby’s heart rate kept dropping.

"From the moment I arrived,” Williams shared, “his heart rate would go down.”

The M3GAN actress called the experience traumatic, saying, "Huge trauma. Deeply stressful. I realized at that moment that I hadn't thought about the possibility of having a C-section."

From the beginning of her pregnancy, Williams admitted that she tried to avoid the idea of surgery.

"I hadn't pictured it, wondered what it was like. I kind of was like, ‘Blah blah blah blah blah. I've never had surgery. I don't wanna think about this.’ And so I didn't."

“That was just a profoundly scary moment where I realized like, 'Oh my god. I'm about to have surgery for the first time,’” she said. "'This isn't going the way I pictured it... This is vulnerable.'"
