Rob Lowe has opened up about the favourite part of filming St. Elmo’s Fire.

Speaking with People Magazine, the actor revealed something he’ll never forget about the 1985 film.

Referring to the scene in which Rob performs the woodwind instrument onstge, Rob said, “I think playing the saxophone in that bar was a highlight.”

“It doesn't get any more 1980s movie moment than playing your sweaty sax solo with your iconic bat shirt on and then getting in a brawl,” the actor added.

He went on to say, “It was just a great moment that those writers gave my character, and I'll never forget it.”

Rob Lowe’s St. Elmo’s Fire is part of the Brat Pack genre.

For those unaware Brat Pack genre is a term used to describe a group of young, popular actors who appeared together in coming-of-age films during the 1980s.

It also stars Emilio Estevez, Andrew McCarthy, Demi Moore, Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy, Andie MacDowell and Mare Winningham.
