Julia Roberts, an American actress well known for her role in Pretty Woman, took a break from acting shortly after becoming mother and finally gotten honest about the whole thing.
For those unversed, back in 2004 Roberts and her husband Danny Moder welcomed twins Hazel and Phinnaeus and since then her family became her first priority.
The Oscar winner star explained her reasons, and the experience that followed with the Wall Street Journal.
That conversation featured candor and saw her admit, "By the time we had kids, I had accomplished things and felt secure about that part of my life. I was so joyful moving into the family phase of my life in a sincere way”
She even revealed that, that her kids, "weren't even aware that I had a job because I was home so much."
It is pertinent to mention though that this isn't the first time the star touched on this major life move. In a 2018 interview with Gwyneth Paltrow on The Goop Podcast, Roberts admitted that stepping back from Hollywood was “an incredible luxury."
She also added at the time, “After 18 extremely busy, lucrative years of making movies... I had earned that time to do whatever I want to do with it, with these new people in our house.”
Director Mike Nichols, who worked with her on Closer and Charlie Wilson’s War, once praised her devotion to motherhood as well, saying, “That’s what Julia has been best at maintaining their real life.”
