King Charles' Sandringham Estate has announced temporarily closure for nearly 10 days.

The monarch’s Norfolk home issues surprise closure notice on its official Instagram handle.

In a major announcement, it says, “As we head into the summer holidays, there's no better place to be than The Sandringham Estate.

“Join us this July for a host of wonderful experiences. Get ready for fantastic live bands, lots of mini golf, and the chance to explore our magnificent House and Gardens looking their very best.”

It further announced, “Please note, The House and Gardens will be temporarily closed from Sunday 20th to Tuesday 29th July, but the wider Estate remains open for plenty of other family-fun activities.”

Sandringham House is the country house in the parish of Sandringham, Norfolk, England.

It is the much-loved country retreat of King Charles and Queen Camilla.

The closure announcement comes amid King Charles and Queen Camilla’s visit to Scotland, where they welcomed guests to the annual Garden Party at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh.

The Royal Garden Party celebrates those who have made positive contributions to Scottish communities. Guests from the Highlands to the Borders enjoyed tea, sandwiches and the famous Palace cake while mingling in the historic gardens.

They were joined by other members of the Royal Family as they met representatives from Scottish charities, community organisations, local businesses, and public service workers who continue to make a difference throughout the nation.

The Garden Party at Holyroodhouse is a tradition dating back to the reign of King George V and Queen Mary, forming an important part of Royal Week in Scotland.
