Prince William has a big vision for his reign as the King of the U.K.
William wants to make the monarchy "fit for purpose in the modern era." The changes he makes will be an "evolution, not a revolution," per an insider.
"I'm trying to do it differently and I'm trying to do it for my generation," is the Prince of Wales' moto, per Radar Online.
According to the sources, William wants to focus the monarchy on delivering for its people and turn away from rigid traditions in a modern approach.
"He'll want to approach it on his own terms – and sincerely," said a longtime friend of the heir to the throne.
"He challenges the status quo and expects real results from the institution. For him, it's all about making a meaningful impact," they added.
Among his plans is the blueprint to shake up the roster of the working royals.
The Duke of Kent, 89, Princess Anne, 74, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, 80 and 79 respectively, are expected to have a reduced workload.
In their place, William wants to bump up Prince Edward, 61, and Sophie, 60, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.
"They're essential," said a royal mole. "The incredible work they do needs to be seen more."
As for scandal-dogged Prince Andrew and estranged brother Prince Harry, William has decided to stay away from the duo and they won’t be included in the working royal roster.
The Prince of Wales will also turn his attention to the expenses of the royals and "look under every stone." William is especially going to examine the taxpayer-funded Sovereign Grant, which currently amounts to £ 86.3 million annually.
