Game of Thrones fans, get ready to see Westeros like never before.

HBO has dropped the official trailer for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, the second GoT prequel series following House of the Dragon, set to premiere on January 18, 2026.

A Knight of Seven Kingdoms is set about a century before Game of Thrones and 75-80 years after House of the Dragon, when the Targaryen dynasty still commands the Iron Throne, but the last dragon has perished.

Adapted from George R.R. Martin's beloved Tales of Dunk and Egg novellas, the six-episode series follows Ser Duncan the Tall (Peter Claffey) and his young squire, Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell) — two unlikely heroes navigating a very different era of the realm.

Per HBO, the world is filled with “great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits” awaiting the duo. The trailer highlights Ser Duncan’s attempt to prove himself in a high-stakes tournament, hoping to earn a place among the Targaryens.

George R. R. Martin serves as co-creator and executive producer, expanding his A Song of Ice and Fire universe with the franchise’s third major adaptation.

It follows the global success of Game of Thrones and the ongoing prequel House of the Dragon, which has already earned a Golden Globe and is expected to return for season three in 2026, with season four also confirmed.
