King Charles and Queen Camilla may not have attended Princess Kate’s Together at Christmas Carol Service on Friday, but the monarch did not shy away from appreciating the event.
Kate Middleton, who was joined by Prince William and their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, hosted her fifth annual festive event at Westminster Abbey.
Among the 1600 guests, Zara Tindall and her husband, Mike Tindall, were among the first members of the royal family to arrive at the service. Duchess Sophie, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and Queen Elizabeth's first cousin, Prince Michael of Kent were also present.
The Buckingham Palace gave a sweet nod to the Princess of Wales by sharing her special evening highlights on social media as sign of appreciation.
Charles is known to share a close bond with his beloved daughter-in-law. He and Kate have even collaborated on a number of projects as part of their royal service.
However, the King, who is still undergoing cancer treatment, had just wrapped the important three-day German State Visit which had kicked off on Wednesday. It is possible that the monarch required his much-needed rest.
Moreover, since the Christmas concert is a big deal for Kate, a time for her to shine for a tradition that she helmed, the monarch may have wanted to let the spotlight remain on his “daughter he never had”.
The last service that the King attended was in 2022 service and Queen Camilla had also joined him.
