BTS leader RM admitted that the group seriously weighed the idea of disbanding before committing to their reunion.
As the group inches closer to reuniting, RM, whose real name Kim Nam-joon, revealed that the members including Jimin, Jin, Jungkook, J Hope, V and Suga, went back and forth over the idea of suspending group activities before their reunion was finalised.
"(We've) thought for tens of thousands of times whether it would be good for us to disband or to suspend activities," the 31-year-old South Korean rapper and songwriter said over the weekend.
He said that the septet had at times grappled with such thoughts during its hiatus as it is preparing a full-group comeback next spring.
“What has kept this team going is how much we love each other, and the love and respect we have for those watching this livestream,” the K-pop sensation added during his live broadcast on the Korean fan community platform Weverse on Saturday, December 6.
It is pertinent to note that BTS is scheduled to reunite as a full group next year as all seven members have completed mandatory military service.
In July, the globally famous band announced it would return with a new album featuring all seven members and launch a world tour next spring.
If the album would be released as planned, it would mark the band's first full-group album in nearly four years since the release of the anthology album Proof and the Yet to Come in Busan concert in 2022.
