ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was shifted to PIMS Hospital for a check up on Saturday after his health deteriorated.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had arrested the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader on July 18 in the LNG case.

A reference against Abbasi is yet to be filed, while his remand has been extended several times.

PIMS spokesperson Dr Wasim said the PML-N leader underwent check up for hernia, heart and lungs.

On October 28, Abbasi told an accountability court that a medical board had suggested he get surgery for which the court should allow him permission to get the surgery at Shifa International Hospital.

The former prime minister also requested the court that his case be broadcast on media so that the whole Pakistan can see how corrupt their elected officials are.
