‘Transformers’ rule box office in 2nd week
New York: Big-budget action film "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" won the battle of the box office for the second-straight weekend, enerating 140 million in global ticket sales and pushing its worldwide total since its debut to 645 million dollars (USD).

The third installment of the popular "Transformers" films was the No. 1 film in the United States and Canada with 47 million in sales. Transformers: Dark of the Moon held onto the #1 spot at the box office for a second weekend.

The Michael Bay action film grossed $47 million in its second weekend, dropping 52%. That's considered very good for a big-budget fanboy-oriented film and is much better than Revenge of the Fallen's 61% in 2009.

The film has grossed $261 million domestically and $558.1 million worldwide from a $195 million budget, making it the #1 domestic-grossing film of the 2011 thus far.
