The Witcher, the Netflix series starring Superman actor Henry Cavill, has  left people drawing parallels with Game Of Thrones shortly after it premiered on Friday.

As it premiered on Friday, some fans and critics called it the next Game Of Thrones, an HBO series based R.R Martin's books.

Although the show 's release followed scepticism from critics of the video game and even the action packed trailer failed to reassure the TV watching world.

Cavill, a video aficionado, was said to have begged for the role of Geralt.

From the reactions The Witcher has received on social media, fans have given their approval of Cavill's performance.

Aside from a minority, critics were also praising the series.

“Looks like I’m gonna finish the whole Witcher season tonight,” wrote a fan on Twitter. 

 “I’m normally not into shows or movies like this, but the Witcher got me,” said another.
