A palace spokesperson revealed Meghan Markle has been advised against travelling by her doctors

Queen Elizabeth is leaning on support from her family after the tragic passing away of Prince Philip.

While Harry reached UK ahead of the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral on Monday, his wife Meghan Markle could not accompany him due to her pregnancy.

According to a source, the 94-year-old monarch fully understands why Meghan could not make it to the funeral.

"It was always a given that Harry would return to England for his grandfather's passing," the insider told PEOPLE, noting that after Philip's death both Meghan and Harry "were in contact with the Queen."

"Meghan expressed condolences. The Queen understands why she can't travel at the moment," the source went on.

Earlier, a palace spokesperson revealed the Duchess was advised against travelling by her doctors.

Meghan "has been advised by her physician not to travel," the representative shared.

Meanwhile, Harry is currently isolating at his UK home, the Frogmore Cottage, with cousin Princess Eugenie, her husband Jack Brooksbank and their newborn son.

Prince Philip's funeral will be held on Saturday at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.
