Queen welcomes Canadian PM Justin Trudeau in first in-person meeting as she regains health

Queen Elizabeth II has received Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in first in-person engagement at Windsor Castle, Berkshire after recovering from Covid-19.

The 95-year-old monarch held an audience with Trudeau at Windsor Castle on Monday, as he is in the UK for talks on the war in Ukraine with Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his Dutch counterpart Mark Rutte.

The picture of Queen's meeting with Justin Trudeau was shared on Royal Family's official social media account on Monday, captioning: "This afternoon The Queen received the Prime Minister of Canada, @justinpjtrudeau, for an Audience at Windsor Castle."

The longest reigning monarch tested positive for Covid-19 on 20 February, just days after Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall both contracted the virus.

The monarch, who is also Queen of Canada, was looking gorgeous in a patterned dress, standing and smiling warmly at the Canadian PM as he held her right hand in both of his.

Justin Trudeau was also seen laughing as the Queen gestured towards herself during the meeting in the Oak Room sitting room.
