Annie Potts unamused by ‘Young Sheldon' cancellation: 'A stupid move'

Young Sheldon star Annie Potts is not happy with CBS’ decision to cancel the show after seven seasons.

The 71-year-old actress recently sat down for an interview with Variety, alongside Ian Armitage who plays the titular character.

After the cast wrapped up the finale episode, Annie shared that the network’s decision to end the Big Bang Theory prequel so soon wasn’t a smart move.

“I still don’t understand why they canceled it. It just seemed like such a stupid business move,” the actress, who plays the role of Sheldon’s grandmother Connie Tucker, told the outlet.

Given that she has several shows to her name, the publication further asked her if saying goodbye to her respective crews gets any easier.

“This one was especially hard because I was completely unprepared. I was shocked. I mean, the No. 1 show on network TV, No. 1 on Netflix. We’re, I think, all that people watch on TikTok besides a couple of recipes for pasta. It just seemed like such a stupid business move,” she shared.

Annie then added, “Forgive me, but I don’t know. If a show is starting to drag or lag or have a lack of stories or whatever, then you kind of see it coming. We were totally ambushed by this. I was, anyway.”
