Daniel Craig is set to receive his 2025 honour from the London Critics' Circle Film Awards.

The James Bond star would be bestowed with the Dilys Powell Award for Excellence in Film at the 45th annual ceremony that is to be held on February 2, 2025, in London.

Expressing his sentiments in a statement, Craig said, "This is such an immense honour and I'm incredibly grateful to the London Film Critics' Circle.”

This revelation comes after he received the award for Best Actor at the National Board of Review Awards Gala in New York on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.

After becoming a recipient of the Excellence in Film award, he would be joining a list of honourees that include, Michael Caine, Judi Dench, Quentin Tarantino, Gary Oldman, Kenneth Branagh and Kate Winslet.

The most recent stars who received the accolade named after the late critic, Dilys Powell, are: Michelle Yeoh and Jeffrey Wright.

Speaking on why Daniel Craig would be the prefect choice to give the award to in 2025, Rich Cline, the Chair of the Critics' Circle Film Section, stated, "As critics, we were already fans of Daniel Craig for the adventurous roles he took on even before he became James Bond," a

"We honoured him for his roles in The Mother and Enduring Love, and then of course we also enjoyed his superb take on 007 as well,” he further added.

Further speaking about Daniel Craig’s acting prowess, Cline also stated, "Over the decades, he has consistently made bold choices and pushed against the boundaries that often limit other top stars. We love the Knives Out movies, and have nominated him this year for Queer. We are looking forward to celebrating his career at our ceremony."
