The 1975 are gearing up to drop their sixth studio album this summer, just in time for their headline slot at Glastonbury Festival in June.
The record, rumored to include the title track God Has Entered My Body, is already generating buzz for its personal lyrics, and it could raise eyebrows for pop icon Taylor Swift.
Frontman Matty Healy is reportedly using the album as a platform to reflect on his brief relationship with Swift in 2023.
According to The Sun, the fleeting romance is said to have inspired several songs on Swift’s latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, including tracks such as But Daddy I Love Him, Guilty As Sin?, Fresh Out The Slammer, and The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived.
In response, Healy is rumored to address their relationship in his own music.
One track, thought to explore their short-lived romance and the pressures of fame, reportedly includes the line, “Keep your head up, Princess, your tiara is falling.”
Moreover, a music insider shared, “Everyone in the studio believes the song is about Healy fling with Taylor and how fleeting their connection was."
As per the outlet, the insider added, "While Healy avoids discussing his relationships publicly, he’s known for pouring his emotions into his lyrics, using his music to process his experiences.”
Additionally, Healy and his bandmates, Ross MacDonald, Adam Hann, and George Daniel, have been working in secret on the new project alongside top producers.
With the upcoming album and their Glastonbury headliner performance, it’s shaping up to be a big summer for The 1975.
It is worth mentioning that fans are eager to hear how Healy’s personal life and artistic vision intersect in this highly anticipated release.
