Barry Keoghan is eternally grateful to his driver, Niall, for being there for him at a critical point in his life.
Opening up about battling addiction, Barry said Niall took him to a rehab in England. The driver got on the plane with him and went all the way to the rehab to make sure he got there.
Barry told Hollywood Authentic: "Niall literally drove me and put me on a plane himself, came with me and brought me to the rehab in England."
"When I say that Niall is the best, I mean it, because no one else put me on the plane, by the hand, literally got on the plane with me," he added.
After recovering from his addiction, the Bird actor went back to visit the rehab and meet the people who helped him.
"I went back to visit. It was nice to see the staff again, and for them to see the change in me," said the Bafta winner. "They were quite emotional about it. I'm forever grateful."
The Irish actor has witnessed many members of his family battle heroin addiction. He lost his mother 20 years ago. She died of an overdose. His father and brother, too, have suffered from addiction. His uncle also died of an overdose.
Barry Keoghan, 32, already has an impressive collection of movies under his belt, including Saltburn, The Banshees of Inisherin, for which he won the Best Supporting Actor BAFTA award, The Batman, and more.
