Prince William on Wednesday visited Wattisham Airfield in Suffolk, according to the royal family.

It marked the Prince of Wales' first visit as Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps.

The future king arrived at the airfield in a Wildcat helicopter and wore an army uniform while touring multiple departments.

William's visit to the airfield represent UK's show of support to Ukraine which recently launched unprecedented attacks against Russia.

His came as Britain pledged  to supply 100,000 drones to Ukraine by the end of the current financial year in April 2026, marking a tenfold increase, after saying the unmanned aerial vehicles had transformed the way wars are fought.

Britain, one of Ukraine's staunchest Western supporters, plans to learn from Kyiv's more than three-year fight against Russian invasion, during which drones have transformed the battlefield.

William, who visited British troops near Russian border in Estonia near might be strategically utilized to demonstrate strength and support for Ukraine amidst the ongoing conflict with Russia.

Notably, King Charles' eldest son donned battle gear to visit British troops in Estonia in March on a trip aimed at underlining his country's support for NATO operations in Eastern Europe.

William, heir to the British throne, was in Tapa camp, around 200 km (125 miles) from the Russian border, inspecting infantry fighting vehicles and riding on a tank wearing full, camouflaged military fatigues.

Britain has about 900 troops in Estonia and Poland as part of 'Operation Cabrit', the British contribution to the expansion of NATO's forces on the alliance's eastern flank following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
