Buckingham Palace has finally responded to claims that when Meghan Markle and Prince Harry applied for British passports for Lilibet and Archie, the request was delayed.
The source told the Guardian, British officials were allegedly "dragging their feet because the passport applications included the titles HRH (His/Her Royal Highness) for both children."
Meghan and Harry’s lawyers sent a letter expressing a desire to request access to the information under the terms of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), a data protection law.
Days after the letter was sent, the Guardian reports, the UK government issued passports for Archie and Lilibet.
The insider close to Meghan and Harry told the outlet, "There was clear reluctance to issue passports for the kids.
"The king hadn’t wanted Archie and Lili to carry the titles, most of all the HRH, and the British passports, once created, would be the first and perhaps the only legal proof of their names.”
According to the Fox News Digital, a representative for Buckingham Palace told the Telegraph that they strongly deny that King Charles or palace officials had any involvement in the delay regarding the passports for Archie and Lilibet.
