Sydney Sweeney reportedly gained 30 pounds for her new role in Christy Martin biopic.

In a new chat with W Magazine, Sydney and David Michôd, the movie's  director and co-writer, discussed the actress' incredible transformation.

Heaping praise for the actress, David said that the Anyone But You actress was excited every day to get into the new character.

"I was stunned by the change in her appearance," he began.

"I had only seen her as an adorable, tough moppet with late-’80s hair, ready to box," the filmmaker added.

He also remarked before conclusion, "Sydney was happiest when she was in the ring punching and being punched. It was shocking to see her being so glamorous.”

Elsewhere in the chat, the actress gave insights into how she managed to achieve a toned figure.

“I loved it. I came onboard to play Christy, and I had about three and a half months of training," she said.

She went on to share, "I started eating. I weight-trained in the morning for an hour, kickboxed midday for about two hours, and then weight-trained again at night for an hour.”
