Meghan Markle has announced that her podcast Confessions of a Female Founder won’t return with a new season anytime soon.
Markle launched the podcast in April and featured many remarkable female entrepreneurs who discussed everything about starting businesses. Earlier in the month, the Duchess of Sussex launched her own lifestyle brand As Ever.
The Suits star revealed the reason for postponing the second season of her podcast during an appearance on Aspire With Emma Grede podcast.
The Duchess noted that she wants to focus on her brand and will be putting everything she learnt during her podcast to practice before she hosts another season.
“I love that there’s so much excitement and desire for a second season, but I need to focus on my business,” she explained.
“Very rarely do people see everything that’s happening behind the scenes. I show a small glimpse of that, but equally, I wrapped season 1 of my Netflix series [and] still had to promote it, still had to be in edits for season 2 … I just wrapped edits on season 2 last week,” she said about her show With Love, Meghan.
She further shared, “It’s still ongoing while also doing the podcast, while also building my business. At a certain point, the only thing I want spread thin is my jam!”
The Duchess noted that it doesn’t seem right to do another reason of a podcast about female founders as her own brand As Ever is still growing.
“I would love to bring the show back when I am at a different end of my founder journey,” the mom-of-two explained. “When I’ve gone through Q4 and say, ‘Here are my proof points … wow, what a year it’s been.’ Or even longer than that. I think a different time will be so exciting to compare and contrast.”
“I know people want another one. I just made a choice to say, ‘It’s a really good time to put all of my energy into the thing that I’m building,’” Meghan Markle added.
