Meghan Markle is sharing a key lesson she and Prince Harry are instilling in their kids Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
While appearing on the Aspire with Emma Grede podcast, released June 17, the Duchess of Sussex discussed starting her business As Ever.
During the discussion, the Good American co-founder asked Meghan if she ever discussed money with her kids.
"We sometimes do a little farmer's market stand," the mom-of-two revealed.
"We grow a lot of veggies and part of what I want them to learn is, and gardening is really so great for children, 'cause it teaches them patience, teaches them to value and appreciate their food," Meghan said.
She explained how she and Harry teach their kids about making money and how to spend it through the harvest.
She said, "So you start from seed and you watch it grow, and they wait. But with that, it's like, now do you want to sell your harvest? And do you want to share it with our community? And also, what do you want to do with those funds once you have them?"
"So really starting to understand as they're learning counting and numbers and all of those things, that there's a cost and a price for things. And I think that's key for children to understand that, especially children who are very lucky to have a home that has privilege," she added.
"You need to know that, just like manners, and taking care of the things around you, there is a value on things," she reasoned.
"In our life, for my husband and I, it's really important that they understand the value of things," explained.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry tied the knot in 2018 and welcomed their son, Archie, in 2019, followed by Lilibet in 2021.
