Tom Cruise reunites with Brad Pitt after three decades

Tom Cruise attended the European premiere of Brad Pitt's "F1: The Movie" in London on Monday.

Cruise made a surprise appearance, joining Brad Pitt on the red carpet as the two A-list stars posed for photographs together.

According to Variety, it was a reunion 31 years in the making as Pitt and Cruise starred together in Neil Jordan’s 1994 horror classic “Interview With a Vampire.”

Speaking to E! News recently, Brad Pitt said he would be interested in acting opposite Cruise again but jokingly added that he is not too interested in matching the Tom Gun actor's love for aerial stunts.

“Well, I’m not gonna hang my a** off airplanes and sh** like that,” Pitt quipped about reuniting with Cruise on the big screen.

“So when he does something again that’s on the ground, [then yes].”

It's the first time 61-year-old Pitt, who plays the fictional racing driver Sonny Hayes in the Apple Originals movie, has driven a real Formula One car on track.

Meanwhile, Hollywood's film academy said that Tom Cruise is among the luminaries selected to receive honorary Oscars this year for lifetime achievements.

Cruise was selected for his decades of work in "Risky Business," two "Top Gun" movies and several other films.

He was nominated for best actor twice, for "Born on the Fourth of July" and "Jerry Maguire," as well as best supporting actor for "Magnolia."

"Tom Cruise's incredible commitment to our filmmaking community, to the theatrical experience, and to the stunts community has inspired us all," Academy President Janet Yang said in a statement.
