Kate Middleton must have been feeling “disappointed” for leaving Prince William alone at the Royal Ascot, a royal expert has revealed.

Recently, the Princess of Wales withdrew from her planned appearance at Royal Ascot just 90 minutes before the carriage procession.

She missed her expected joint appearance with the Prince of Wales with Royal expert Ingrid Seward now claiming that the Princess of Wales was “disappointed” for skipping the event.

"Ascot is more exhausting than it looks; it involves an early start, and there's a long process of hair and make-up and getting the right outfit,” she told Hello!.

"The royals have lunch at Windsor Castle; then there is a bumpy carriage ride while the whole world is looking at you. It was a very hot day, and she probably simply didn't feel up to it."

"I'm sure she was disappointed and really wanted to be there at William's side," Seward shared of Kate’s reaction.

"She loves racing and so does her mum,” she continued. “But this was a social event for fun and pleasure rather than an official or charity engagement, so I think it was a wise decision, even though it was probably a difficult one, too."

This comes amid reports that Kate is planning to slow down and appear in public much less over the next few months.

An insider shared that Kate is now trying to find a better balance between her royal duties and personal life and may only be seen a few times in the coming months.
