Prince Archie, Princess Lilibet title removal would spark huge controversy

Prince William has been warned of grave consequences if he removes the royal titles of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

There are rumours that if Prince William go ahead with this, it could also deepen his rift with the Duke of Sussex.

However, sharing his take on the matter, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams clarified that the ongoing royal rift has less to do with Archie and Lilibet.

Speaking to Fox News Digital, he explained that while Harry’s kids hold HRH titles by right under the 1917 letters patent issued by King George V, their future royal status remains uncertain.

"It may or may not resolve itself," Fitzwilliams said. "It would be simple for the HRH to be removed by the sovereign.”

“However, they were entitled to it automatically as children of the sons of the monarch, because of the 1917 letters patent of George V, contrary to what the Sussexes claimed in their infamous Oprah interview,” he added.

Before concluding, Fitzwilliams said it’s unclear what decision William might make when he becomes king, but he will likely consider the public response carefully.

“It is unclear what William will do when he becomes king, but he will be well aware of the probable effect and vast, often adverse publicity if he did this."

This comes amid reports Harry wants the option open for his children so they could choose to become working royals in the future.

However, a friend of William revealed that he would never let Archie and Lilibet become working members of the Royal family.

“William obviously isn’t going to hire Archie and Lilibet,” the pal shared. “This is just trolling on the part of Harry and Meghan.

“It’s actually hilarious that no one even noticed it for ten days, until the Mail did it. The idea that somehow having a vestigial HRH as a baby later entitles you to be a working royal is beyond parody, even for them.”
