Bradley Cooper is reminiscing over his relationship with his late dad Charlie Cooper.

Charlie died in 2011 after suffering from lung cancer, and Bradley has continued to miss him.

The Hangover star has produced a documentary about caregiving to highlight the work of hospice caregivers.

“My dad was somebody I idolized," Cooper, 50, says in the documentary Caregiving.

"I used to dress up like him when I was a kid in kindergarten and get made fun of because I wanted to wear a little suit and tie," the Oscar-nominated star shared.

"Like most people, I didn’t even think about caregiving until my dad was diagnosed," he says in the film.

Cooper opened up about the painful reality of seeing a parent go from young and strong to sick and dependent.

"To go from [dressing up like him] to giving him a bath is quite a traumatic thing ... he was at a point where he needed a lot of care," he said.

"I was lucky enough that I was able to be there for him, and I certainly also benefited from the help we got," he added.

The Maestro star’s documentary highlights the struggle of families seeking care as well as the role of caregivers, who are often overlooked.
