Queen Camilla used a powerful fashion statement to quietly honour Scotland as she stepped out for the annual garden party in Edinburgh with King Char.es
The Queen Consort opted to wear the Queen Mary’s Diamond Thistle Brooch, a piece of jewellery rich with history and symbolism.
By wearing the jewellery, Camilla hinted her ongoing commitment to tradition as she joined King Charles in welcoming more than 8,000 guests at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
Speaking with GB News, jewellery expert Tobias Kormind said that Camilla’s repeated choice of the brooch shows that she uses iconic pieces to connect with the people of the places she visits.
"The much-awaited Royal Week began on Tuesday in Edinburgh with a flurry of events planned, and the annual garden party was anticipated to be the fashion highlight," he said.
He added, "We expected Queen Camilla to pay tribute to Scotland through her jewellery choices, and she did."
"She wore Queen Mary's diamond thistle brooch, as she did in 2024, as a nod to the Scottish floral emblem," he explained.
The brooch, shaped like Scotland’s national flower, was seen as a subtle but meaningful nod to the host nation.
