Charlie Kirk had a claim about the late-night host Jimmy Kimmel years before his brutal assassination.

The late podcaster took to his X account (formerly Twitter) back in 2017 and called out Kimmel by tweeting, "Jimmy Kimmel isn't funny."

This almost eight years old tweet has resurfaced recently after Kimmel was suspended "indefinitely" for making claims in his recent monologue that "Kirk's killer, Tyler Robinson, was part of the MAGA movement."

It is unclear what made Kirk to share his remark about Kimmel on night of October 5, 2017, as the guest on the comedian's late night show were actress Isla Fisher and actor Jeff Bridges.

"Kirk has defeated the menace known as Jimmy Kimmel," an X user wrote, while another commented, "Not funny or honest. Or employed."

ABC and its parent company pulled of him on Wednesday, September 17 after Kimmel claimed in his Monday September 15's monologue, "We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA Gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it."

ABC also asked Kimmel to "issue a direct apology to the Kirk family. Furthermore, we ask Mr. Kimmel to make a meaningful personal donation to the Kirk Family and Turning Point USA."

Two local TV stations named Nexstar and Sinclair Inc. also announced on Wednesday that they were removing Kimmel from the ABC affiliates in their portfolios.

"Due to problematic comments regarding the murder of Charlie Kirk in programming provided to broadcast stations by ABC, Sinclair and its partners, which operate ABC stations in 30 markets in the U.S., will stop airing Jimmy Kimmel’s show until further notice," Sinclair Inc. statement reads.

Nexstar Media Group said in a statement, “Nexstar strongly objects to recent comments made by Kimmel concerning the killing of Charlie Kirk and will replace the show with other programming in its ABC-affiliated markets,”
