Kelly Clarkson plans special holidays for kids after father's death

Kelly Clarkson is determined to give her kids a memorable holiday season after they have suffered a major loss this year, of their dad, Brandon Blackstock.

The 43-year-old singer and media personality took to Instagram on Sunday, November 30, and shared a picture of herself ice skating with kids.

The festive picture showed Clarkson’s daughter, River Rose, 11, and son Remington "Remy" Alexander, 9, cosied up in warm clothes as they posed for a selfie.

"Ice skating at 30 Rock with the family," The Kelly Clarkson Show host wrote in the caption of their picture from The Rink at Rockefeller Center in New York City.

The Underneath The Tree hitmaker was accompanied by someone she didn’t tag, who smiled in the picture with the family.

Clarkson has been candid about trying to protect her kids and give them the best childhood she can. In a previous episode of her talk show, the mom of two admitted that she tells her daughter, "I look at my daughter constantly, and I'm just like, 'Look, I'm trying my best,' I know you're gonna end up in therapy one day. I don't know what for, but I'm trying my best to limit it. Just like, help out."

Although Clarkson and Blackstock had split up, she was very worried about his health during his battle with cancer, and his subsequent death left her devastated.
