The Duchess of Gloucester’s daughter, Lady Davina Windsor, made a rare and stylish appearance on Friday evening as she attended the Princess of Wales’s Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey.

Usually one of the most private members of the royal family, the 48 year old stepped briefly back into the spotlight, accompanied by her two children, Senna, 15, and Tāne, 13.

Lady Davina looked elegant in a teal cropped wrap jacket paired with a navy pleated ensemble and heeled boots, while Senna mirrored her mother’s wintery chic in a blue spot-print satin dress topped with a navy velvet blazer.

Though born into royalty, Davina does not carry out official duties and prefers a life away from public attention, appearing mainly for significant family events such as royal weddings and Trooping the Colour.

Born on 19 November 1977 at St Mary’s Hospital in London, she grew up within the walls of Kensington Palace.

She attended Kensington Preparatory School and later St George’s School in Ascot before completing a media studies degree at the University of the West of England.

Her personal story has its own romantic twist. During a surfing holiday in Bali in 2000, she met New Zealand-born Gary Lewis, a carpenter and former sheep shearer of Māori descent.

They married in 2004 in an intimate ceremony at Kensington Palace’s chapel, where she opted for a simple yet elegant satin gown with a sweetheart neckline and lace sleeves.
