The final countdown is officially on for Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s departure from Royal Lodge.

The long-awaited move is set to take place by 25 January, HELLO! confirmed.

As the Duke of York prepares to leave the 30-room Windsor property, it has emerged that his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson is preparing for a fresh chapter of her own.

Sources reveal that the former Duchess of York will not be following Andrew to Marsh Farm on the King’s Sandringham estate, nor will she be relocating to her eldest daughter Princess Beatrice’s Cotswolds home.

Instead, Sarah is said to be weighing up her options, with Princess Eugenie’s home in Portugal among the possibilities while she searches for a place of her own.

A source close to the situation tells HELLO! that while Fergie has stood firmly by Andrew for years, she now feels ready to move forward independently.

The insider adds that the former Duke has withdrawn from the outside world, no longer reading newspapers and remaining in what is described as his own bubble.

Although the sisters continue to see their father, Sarah is said to be deeply shaken by everything that has unfolded.

Andrew and Sarah have lived at Royal Lodge since 2004, but the arrangement began to unravel after he was stripped of his royal titles last October following his links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The fallout also affected Sarah, who lost her courtesy title of Duchess of York after the dukedom was removed from her ex-husband.

Despite the upheaval, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie have remained untouched by the changes, retaining their HRH styles and titles.

In recent days, removal vans have been spotted at Royal Lodge, while Marsh Farm has undergone visible upgrades, including new security fencing and lighting.
